The ‘Outlaw’ web series, which is now available on the OTT platform Chaupal, has been a huge success. This online series, directed by Baljit Singh Deo and written and produced by Gippy Grewal in collaboration with Chaupal Studios, is dominating the Punjab entertainment sector.
It has been a big success not just in Punjab, but also internationally. In under 72 hours, the serial became the most-watched Punjabi web series. The action-packed thriller web series follows Kaala, played by Gippy, and his chacha, Yograj Singh, as they become involved in illegal operations in Canada and eventually become Outlaws.
Along with them, we have notable performers such as Prince Kanwaljit, who plays Jeeta, a cab driver who becomes voluntarily entangled in Kaalas and his chacha’s actions in order to make money. Prince Kanwaljit stated of playing Jeeta, “I loved playing the character of Jeeta.” It was a unique part that I thoroughly loved performing.
Jeeta’s persona served as a catalyst, propelling the show forward. Outlaw was my first web series, co-created with Gippy Grewal, and I’m quite thrilled since the audience is appreciating this web series, which is currently available on Chaupal.” Nitin Gupta, Chaupal’s Chief Content Officer, stated, “Aside from films, Chaupal has many more original web series lined up for the future, which will feature many known Punjabi mainstream artists.”
