Mohali, On International Wheelchair Day, Miss Wheelchair World 2022, Somya Thakur celebrated this special day with Wheelchair manufacturing brand Evox. On that Occassion Somya and the team of Evox celebrates the independence of disable people that is provided by the Wheelchairs.
She appreciates componies and people like Evox who are building wheelchair and disabled friendly products. She also mentions the contribution of people and buildings who are helping in building wheelchair friendly infrastructure. Moreover, Evox and Somya both makes awareness for the millions of those people who needs wheelchair but cannot aqauire due lack of knowledge, sources or finances.
Talking about her previous work, Somya Thakur, a young urban woman, showcased her beauty and self-assurance by portraying India on a global stage. The tricolour carrier at the “Miss Wheelchair World 2022 Contest” will be Soumya, 27. Somya has had scoliosis and a locomotor disability since infancy. She received additional blows when she was involved in a vehicle accident two years ago, which rendered her bedridden for months and caused more health issues, slowing her recovery. But she never allowed this disability to interfere with her ability to live a dignified life at any time in her life.
She currently balances her passion for beauty with her job as an HR professional for a private company. Along with her career and enthusiasm, Saumya gives hope to the vulnerable children who are struggling. She shares countless tips for living as a motivational lecturer and is the general secretary of the Positive Abilities Rotaract Club, which operates under the auspices of Rotary Chandigarh Shivalik. She has enthusiastically participated in numerous charitable endeavours with Rotary organisations in recent years, setting an excellent example for the community.
Somya has previously taken part in numerous prestigious national events, but the event in Mexico is her first introduction to a global audience. In an effort to break the world record for the longest wheelchair fashion show in Chennai, Somya also received praise for her beauty. She finished second in Miss Kozinoor India 2019 as well. Additionally, she recently received the Women Achievers and Country Great Icon Awards. Somya is confident that she will be able to represent the country’s heritage and cultural pride on this international stage admirably; however, she also needs the support of the public and the government in order to prepare for the challenge within two months.
