New Delhi, May, 2025 – As global investors increasingly turn their attention to India, one of the world’s fastest-growing economies, leading corporate lawyer Som Mandal has launched a timely new book, “Investing in India”, at an event held at the India International Center, New Delhi. The high-profile launch was attended by a host of legal luminaries, parliamentarians, bureaucrats, and policy influencers.

The book was officially released by Attorney General of India, Shri R. Venkataramani, in the presence of Justice Najmi Waziri, Senior Advocate Amal Kumar Ganguli, Rajya Sabha MPs Deepak Prakash and Shamik Bhattacharyya. Other notable attendees included former Chief Justice of India Justice V. N. Khare, former Supreme Court Judge Hemant Gupta, Additional Solicitor General Shri Chetan Sharma, and senior legal figures like Rakesh Khanna, Joy Basu, and Atul Chitley.

The event underscored the book’s importance in today’s economic context, where India is increasingly seen as a stable, rules-driven, and opportunity-rich destination for global capital.

Attorney General Venkataramani praised the initiative, noting, “A country’s legal infrastructure is the backbone of investor confidence. This book equips readers with the knowledge they need to participate in India’s growth story.”

Justice Waziri emphasized the country’s adherence to the rule of law, calling it “a central pillar in attracting sustainable and long-term investment.”

MP Deepak Prakash connected the book’s relevance to government initiatives like Make in India and Startup India, asserting that “equipping the youth and foreign investors with practical legal guidance is key to our economic ambition.”

MP Shamik Bhattacharyya, who recently visited Europe as part of an all-party parliamentary outreach, highlighted how India’s image is evolving on the world stage. “This book is a reminder that India offers both growth and stability—rare traits in today’s global investment climate,” he said.

Som Mandal, the author, shared key motivations behind writing the book, citing both his extensive corporate legal experience and personal involvement in landmark cases. He recalled a case involving international author Barbara Taylor Bradford, in which Fox Mandal successfully secured a Supreme Court ruling within 24 hours to protect her rights—demonstrating the agility and credibility of India’s legal system. “India isn’t just a story of growth,” Mandal said, “It’s a story of reliable governance and legal access.”
